-Take an old sweater with a nice cable knit or pattern. (Bonus if you can find one with ribbing along the bottom like this one!) My sweater was a woman's size medium.
-Cut a rectangle shape from front and back material about 12 inches wide by about 16 inches long. Turn fabric inside out so your seams are on the inside of the sack and sew up three sides. I kept the ribbed edge (which was the sweater bottom) open.
-Taper the top of the sack so it's more a "sack" shape and not a rectangle shape.
-Cut small holes about 2 inches apart for a ribbon or yarn braid to go through and weave it through the holes.
And there you have it! I also made one out of an old t-shirt. Except for the spot for the tie, I just used the bottom hem of the tshirt that was already there :)
